SURPRISAL OF THE BLACKBIRDS

American birds around and atop branches of trees in migration in New York City. Contemporary american classical music, the natural beauty of a National Geographic blackbird migration wildlife documentary, natural sounds, wind, wings beating, dynamic flute, piano violin, cello and viola music, ensemble works, acoustic bird calls, breathtaking aerodynamic feats by a large high flying flock in unison as one outstreched being.  This live action classical music video showcases a remarkable chorus of wild birds that magically swoops in powerful slingshot patterns, into the trees of a New York City backyard on a sunny day. Just one stop on their journey, they are all blackbird pilots when they fly together and their winged balletic maneuvers are something to behold.  Captured on film, edited and set to music by Karen Leon. The birdcalls and other environmental elements were paired with contemporary classical music by Leo Kraft a 2012 inductee into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Works including Cape Cod Sketches and Venetian Reflections. A Broken Tail Productions film.
